Break Free From Binge Eating & Compulsive Overeating
Binge Eating & BED Dietitian
Melbourne & Online
Binge eating involves episodes of overeating with a sense of loss of control around food. Binge eating disorder (BED) is characterised by recurrent binge episodes—consuming large amounts of food quickly—followed by significant distress, without compensatory behaviours like purging.
As a specialist dietitian, I provide evidence-based support to help people overcome binge eating and BED by addressing the biological, psychological, and behavioural factors involved.
Binge Eating & Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
-Â What're the differences?
Binge Eating
Â
Binge eating is disordered eating marked by feeling out of control around food (can't stop eating during the setting) and significant distress afterward.Â
There are 2 types of binge eating:
- Subjective: Loss of control around foodÂ
- Objective:Â Loss of control around food + notably large amounts in a short time.
Research shows that both types cause similar physical and emotional harm.
Binge eating experiences directly increase the risk to develop a clinical Binge Eating Disorder.
Binge Eating Disorder(BED)
Â
Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a diagnosed mental health condition and the most common eating disorder (47%), affecting 2-3% of adults.
Key features & experiences:
- Recurrent binge (weekly for >3months)
- No compensatory behaviours (e.g. purging, fasting, or excessive exercise)
- Eating rapidly or until uncomfortably full
- Eating when not hungry or alone due to embarrassment
- Feeling disgusted, depressed, or guilty afterward
BED is treatable with the right support from trained specialists

Hi I'm Malcolm
Binge Eating Dietitian, Intuitive Eating Counsellor & Body Image Coach
I know what it feels like to be trapped in the binge cycle - It sucks!
Â
For 13 years, I lived with Binge Eating Disorder—trapped in food obsession, body dissatisfaction, and endless diet traps disguised as “healthy lifestyles.” My self-recovery journey taught me what doesn’t work—and what truly does.
As a dietitian, It hurts to see so many clients struggling with the same cycle, wondering why willpower and “healthy habits” weren’t enough.
That’s why I’m dedicated to helping people break free from binge eating, emotional eating, and overeating—regaining confidence around food and their bodies without restriction or guilt. No more diet traps. No more feeling helpless. Just lasting food freedom. Â
